Privacy policy
How DrainUK handles website usage information, correspondence, affiliate referrals and privacy rights.
Last reviewed: 14 October 2026. This policy explains the personal information that may be processed when you use DrainUK.co.uk or contact its operator. It applies to this website, not to the separate websites of third parties to which we link.
Who is responsible for your information?
The operator and data controller for its own processing is Prudent Plus Limited, Booths Hall, Booths Park, Knutsford, Cheshire WA16 8GS, registered company 10104295, ICO registration ZB208127. Contact details are provided at the bottom of this page.
Information collected when you visit
DrainUK does not currently offer visitor accounts, an onsite job-request form or a newsletter. However, our hosting infrastructure may receive technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as your IP address, requested pages, time of access, referring page, browser type and device information. Hosting and security providers may process this information on our behalf.
Where processing is needed to run the website, investigate errors, maintain security or prevent abuse, we generally rely on our legitimate interests in providing a functional, secure service. We aim to limit such processing to what is reasonably necessary.
Emails and correspondence
If you email us, we receive the address you write from, your message and any information you choose to include. We use it to respond, manage legitimate website enquiries and retain relevant correspondence where needed. Please do not send medical details, financial account information or sensitive personal information, and do not assume an email will be treated as an instruction to investigate a drainage emergency.
Cookies, analytics and similar technologies
The published website does not intentionally deploy advertising cookies or a third-party analytics tag in its supplied HTML. Essential server or security technologies may nevertheless be used by the hosting provider. If analytics, embedded content or non-essential cookies are added later, this statement and any consent controls should be reviewed before deployment. Your browser can also be configured to restrict cookies.
What happens when you use a MyJobQuote link?
Some DrainUK links include an affiliate tracking parameter identifying the referring website. Clicking one takes you away from DrainUK to MyJobQuote, which is independently responsible for its own collection of job descriptions, contact details, cookies and subsequent communications. Read MyJobQuote's privacy and cookie information before providing details on that service.
We may receive aggregated or referral-related performance information from an affiliate arrangement. This is not the same as having access to every enquiry or the personal details you submit to MyJobQuote. The exact reporting available depends on the arrangement and the third party's systems.
Sharing and service providers
Technical records and correspondence may be processed by our web-hosting, security and email providers where necessary to operate the website. Information may also be disclosed where legally required or needed to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We do not offer an onsite customer database for sale.
Storage, retention and international transfers
We keep information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was obtained, including security records, correspondence and applicable legal requirements. Precise server-log periods depend on the hosting configuration and should be checked against the production provider's settings. Where service providers process information outside the UK, applicable safeguards should be assessed as required by UK data-protection law.
Your UK data-protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to request access to your personal information, correction, erasure, restriction or objection to processing, and data portability. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent. Rights can be subject to lawful exceptions. Contact us using the protected email control below and describe your request sufficiently for us to identify the relevant information.
If you are dissatisfied with how a concern has been handled, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO). We encourage you to contact us first so we can investigate.
Policy changes
We may revise this page when website features, hosting arrangements, data practices or legal requirements change. The review date above indicates when the wording was last updated; it is not a guarantee that production hosting systems have independently been audited.
